As an organizer, you need to create a Stripe account in order to accept online payments for your event. However, your players don’t need to create a Stripe account in order to pay online for your event.
A player only needs to enter the credit card information and they can quickly and conveniently pay for the event without the hassle of cash.
After the 5.9% commission (minimum of $1.00 per transaction), the funds are held in a virtual account for 7 days for fraud prevention and refund purposes. Payouts are then directly deposited into the bank account associated with your Stripe account on a 7-day rolling basis, with payments sent the week after collection.
Accepting online payments on HC is optional, but highly recommended. Even if you have online payments enabled, you can still give players the option of paying cash. As organizers ourselves though, we thought it was better to spend less time chasing players for money and more time enjoying the game!
